Promoting Quality in Open and Distance Learning

Ensuring Quality in learndirect Learning Centres

The British Association for Open Learning (BAOL), and the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council (ODL QC), have formed a partnership to advise learndirect, the delivery arm of UfI (the University for Industry), on quality in learning centres.

learndirect is fully committed to providing a total quality service for all its learners. It is also committed to working with existing quality systems and key bodies in the industry to ensure that quality.

Under the terms of the contract now agreed, the BAOL/ODL QC partnership will help learndirect prepare guidance materials for UfI on quality for learning centres, briefing materials for all staff responsible for the implementing and assuring the quality of the service, guidelines on how these quality materials fit into other quality regimes, and case studies as examples of quality in practice.
