Heralds of Excellence
Family history is an increasingly popular activity, and the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies specialises in helping people gain the skills to pursue it.

The Institute is situated in its own freehold premises dating from the 13th & 16th centuries. These house an extensive library, and an excellent collection of family historical records, original manuscripts and unique resources.

The IHGS was first accredited in 1992, and was yesterday re-accredited, following a successful reassessment.

During the re-assessment, ODL QC received lots of feedback from learners who according the reporting assessor “are not only satisfied with the course but express real enthusiasm for it, and the provider.”

The reporting assessor commented, “IHGS is a well-established provider offering a specific product to a particular specialist market. The course gives the interested individual a thorough and professional training in the subject, and access to professional and resources which are second to none.”
