International Centre has Accreditation renewed

22nd March 2002

At a meeting of the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council (ODL QC) yesterday the Open Learning Centre International retained their Accredited Status. The Centre was founded in 1983, and offers open and distance learning to individuals and firms in more than 90 countries. It has probably the widest range of non-degree open and distance learning programmes in the UK.

ODL QC has responsibility for promoting quality in all forms of open and distance learning. To achieve accreditation providers must undergo a thorough assessment of administrative and tutorial methods, educational materials, and publicity. Accredited providers are re-assessed at regular intervals to ensure that learners continue to receive a good service.

Responding to the news, Director Max Faulkner said,
"Our accreditation has provided customers with the reassurance that our quality claims are externally monitored and not just marketing copy. This year's accreditation is of particular importance as we have now become an independent business whilst still offering both the range and quality of provision built up over the past eighteen years."

Accredited providers are recognised by learners as flexible, friendly, and above all secure.
