Related sites Another site for families considering home education to have a look at is Education Otherwise.

The HEAS site contains a "Useful Web Sites" page with links to resources, advice and course providers.

A number of ODL QC Accredited providers offer courses suitable for home education. Our courses index is a good place to start.

The Home Education Advisory Service(HEAS)

is a UK registered charity, which was established in 1995 by a group of home educators keen to spread their knowledge.
The emphasis is on providing reliable and consistent information about the legal and pratical aspects of home education, not only to families, but also to education authorities, researchers, politicians, voluntary agencies and the media. HEAS work closely with LEAs to encourage awareness of home education as a viable alternative to school, without limiting its diversity of approach.

Much of the service open to HEAS subscribers is 'offline', such as the Quarterly Bulletin or the Advice Line, and so the site is relatively small and basic.
Given the isolation that many home educators feel (or fear) I imagine online message boards and chat room facilities might be very welcome in the technological future.
