Many people dream of a new career. Good distance learning providers can help people achieve their dreams. The ODL QC identifies such providers, and awards accreditation as a mark of excellence.

The Writers Bureau was founded in 1989 in recognition of the increasing numbers of aspiring writers. In 1990, the Bureau was first awarded ODL QC accreditation, and this was extended in 1995 and 1999, following rigorous assessments.

Yesterday the Council agreed to re-accredit the Bureau for a further 3 years, recognising the provider's continued commitment to quality.

The accreditation report states,
"the Writers Bureau continues to be a first class provider" and highlights the positive commendations from learners given on the ODL QC questionnaire.

Reacting to the news, Diana Nadin, Director of Studies said,
"At the Writers Bureau we value our link with ODL QC because of the reassurance it provides for both potential and existing students. Also, we find that having to go through the process of re-accreditation at regular intervals makes us stand back and look at our courses, systems and the service we offer in a more objective way. This can never be a bad thing in terms of improved quality."
