At their meeting yesterday, the Open & Distance Learning Quality Council agreed to accredit The Regent Academy.
Founded in 1990, and based in central London, the Academy offers a range of distance learning courses, originally concentrating on art and design, but lately extending to writing and journalism, complementary medicines and a number of career-oriented subjects.
Welcoming the news, ODL QC Chief Executive Dr David Morley notes that "the demand for distance learning courses has never been greater; it is good to see a vigorous and rapidly-growing provider achieving accreditation with the Council".
For their part, the Academy, according to its Principal, Philip Laniado, "is delighted to receive accreditation and looks forward to a long association with the ODLQC".
