The Publishing Training Centre at Book House, which offers distance learning courses for the book and journal publishing industry, is the latest provider to become accredited by the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council.
John Whitley, Chief Executive of PTC said,
"This is an important step for us. As the body responsible for developing the Occupational Standards in publishing, it is vital for us to practise what we preach. The process of accreditation was thorough, and has shown us ways in which we can further enhance both product and service levels in future. I commend it to all suppliers."
The Council awarded accreditation at their meeting today, after assessing the work of the Centre against their Standards for learner support, publicity, administration, and course materials.
ODL QC Chief Executive commented,
"The Publishing Training Centre offers high-quality professional training for the publishing industry, with close links to lead bodies, such as The Publishers Association, and the Society of Freelance Editors and Proofreaders".
Accreditation is for providers, a unique opportunity to enhance and demonstrate the excellence of their provision. Above all, it offers the learner a Guarantee of a good service.
The Centre can now demonstrate the excellence of their provision, by including the ODL QC Guarantee of a good service in its materials.
