RRC Business Training, a successful and long-standing ODL QC accredited provider, yesterday became the first organisation to be awarded a specific ODL QC course accreditation.

The course, the Key2safety programme, is designed to meet the health and safety needs of organisations based anywhere in the world, and is ideal for companies which operate in more than one country.

This is an exciting development for the open and distance learning community. ODL QC accredited providers can now seek to add accreditation for one or more courses as exemplars of their overall provision.

Course accreditation involves a thorough assessment of the programme against not only the ODL QC Standards, but also detailed statements of objectives and outcomes. The aim is to provide additional reassurance for learners when considering courses not specifically linked to external awarding bodies.

The course accreditation mark will acknowledge programmes with a first-rate content, realisable aims, appropriate assessment, and which meet the highest standards in distance learning design.
