Earlier this year, Modern Montessori International, which offers Montessori training worldwide, was awarded accreditation for its London-based distance learning provision.

At a meeting yesterday, the ODL QC extended the provider’s accreditation to cover its Montessori training operations worldwide.

"This is an exciting new development," explained Dr David Morley, ODL QC Chief Executive. "The nature of distance learning means that courses can transcend national boundaries, and ODL QC accredited providers work with learners in many different countries. MMI is proof that this model, and our accreditation, can be expanded into a truly worldwide operation."

Modern Montessori International has extensive resources in several countries; with headquarters and teaching facilities in Singapore, and schools in London and Malaysia. A substantial expansion into India is underway, including the construction of corporate headquarters in Delhi and a network of schools nationwide.

The accreditation report, which details the ODL QC assessment, and recommends accreditation, says MMI "manages to combine an entrepreneurial zeal with care and attention to the detailed quality of its courses."
