In 1997 The Institute of Chiropodists & Podiatrists was first granted ODL QC accreditation. Yesterday they had this renewed at a meeting of the Council.
The Institute was founded in 1938 and today has more than 30 branches throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. Students are granted Student Membership of their local Branch and have the opportunity to meet with established practitioners for advice and guidance. All members are welcome to attend the Institute's annual conference and various seminars, and Continued Professional Development subjects run throughout the year.
"The Courses have constantly been reviewed and have consequently been fortunate to reach the required standards for reaccreditation in 2002," said Susan Kirkham, Secretary of the Institute.
In a report recommending the award, Dr Morley (Chief Executive of ODL QC) described the Institute as "effectively and competently managed," and said the assessment was "close to problem free."
