Greenwich School of Theology retains elite status
|
![]() | |
Yesterday, at a meeting of the ODL Quality Council, Greenwich School of Theology was awarded ODL QC accredited status for a further three years.
The decision follows a detailed re-evaluation of the provider’s service against the Council’s published Standards. Recommending the re-accreditation, Dr Morley of the ODL QC said,
He described the “willingness of a community of scholars to pursue and share knowledge and learning,” so obvious at the School as “both refreshing and highly commendable.” The School, which has been in existence since 1958, offers courses in Theology at Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral levels. All degree courses are accredited by Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education and all may be achieved by means of distance learning.

In response to the news, Byron Evans, Dean of the School, described the benefits of accreditation,
"Students who consider Distance Learning as an option need access to a recognised professional body for reliable independent information, guidance and, above all, certain assurances about the courses on offer and the integrity of the provider. Providers benefit too, not only by having their strengths and qualities acknowledged in the public domain but also through the rigorous process of accreditation, which demands re-evaluation of existing provision, re-examination of key issues and identification of future aims and objectives. ODL QC fulfils all these functions consistently and dynamically." - - - - Ends - - - - Further details from: Elspeth Harrison at ODL QC on Registrar at GST, Mr Chris Woodall, on 01777 703058 or fax 01777 703526. | |||
