The Open and Distance Learning Quality Council yesterday awarded full accreditation to the distance learning provider Ethos Associates Limited.

Ethos offers over 30 programmes through partnerships with FE colleges across the UK. It helped over 20,000 learners gain new skills in subjects from health and safety to professional development in the last academic year.

To receive accreditation, providers must demonstrate that they meet or exceed the ODL QC Standards for Open and Distance Learning.

In his report, ODL QC Chief Executive Dr Morley, confirmed that the Ethos Associates' provision "is excellent." He had particular praise for the organisation's "understanding and communication of the special needs of distance learners."

Andy Bush, Director of Business Development for Ethos Associates said the company is,
"extremely proud to receive the endorsement and recognition from the ODL QC. We value our links with the Council and look forward developing this relationship over the coming years."

He added, "carrying the ODL QC quality mark on our materials gives a clear indication, to our learners and accrediting awarding bodies, of
the quality standards we maintain."
