The Open and Distance Learning Quality Council yesterday awarded full accreditation to the open learning materials from the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development.
Provisional accreditation was granted in March, when the materials were still under development. Further assessment has proved that they meet the ODL QC Standards for learning materials, and they are now entitled to carry the ODL QC Materials Quality Mark.
The series of one-hour workbooks were developed by Tactics for Exam Success (an ODL QC Accredited Provider) and are to be used by partner colleges to help learners towards CIPD qualifications.
This is only the first time that the ODL QC seal of quality has been awarded to the materials-only part of an overall provision.
Announcing the award, ODL QC Chief Executive Dr David Morley said,
"This is a unique project in which ODL QC, Tactics, and the Chartered Institute were able to work in partnership to establish excellence in a major set of learning materials. Learners choosing them can be sure not only that the content is first-rate, but also that it is set out in the best way to facilitate their learning."
