The Open and Distance Learning Quality Council gave provisional accreditation to the open learning materials from the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development at a meeting yesterday.
The materials were developed by Tactics for Exam Success (an Accredited provider) to be used by partner colleges to help learners towards CIPD qualifications.
The series of one-hour workbooks is still under development. But enough of the materials, and the underlying processes, were available to the team of ODL QC assessors that they could satisfy themselves that the project was on track for full accreditation in June. Their report supports this, whilst making a number of suggestions for further enhancement.
This is a unique project. ODL QC, Tactics, and the Chartered Institute are able to work in partnership to establish excellence in a major set of learning materials.
Success in June would be the first time that the ODL QC seal of quality has been awarded to the materials-only part of an overall provision.
