Britannica Learning (UK) was yesterday admitted to New Provider Status by the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council (ODL QC).
Britannica was created following the Government White Paper "Learning to Succeed" which set the objective of improving access to post-16 education by 2010. Their expanding programme of courses includes ECDL, CLAIT, and Microsoft Web Design.
ODL QC works with new providers to help them establish a quality provision. Once they can show that they have reached its standards in distance learning, they can be accredited, use the Quality Mark to demonstrate their achievement, and reassure learners that training with them will be good experience.
Accredited providers also benefit from the Council's strong links with bodies including learndirect, the British Council, the DfES, and the ILA office.
