"Book-Keepers are the unsung heroes of the accounting world", says Hugh Laing, the Chairman of the International Association of Book-Keepers (IAB).
"The role of the book-keeper is fundamental to the success of any small business...businesses need accurate information and accurate financial reporting, which stems from accurate book-keeping.
Good book-keeping is actually the single most important element of any financial system".
The International Association of Book-keepers is the longest established professional body for book-keeping.
It was formed in 1973, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards in book-keeping by its members.
It also holds its examinations in over 70 countries throughout the world.
The IAB is the 'technician' body of the Institute of Financial Accountants, which was established in 1916 and is now the fourth largest body of professional accountants in the UK.
The IAB's qualifications are wholly relevant to individuals working at the first levels of financial accountancy.
The syllabuses and examinations are constantly updated to meet current businesss needs.
As a result the qualifications offered by IAB are recognised and respected throughout the world as reliable indications of competence and integrity.
