Hats off to the Horticulturalists!
Gardening is an ever-popular pursuit. But it’s also a demanding one, requiring time, energy and expertise.

In today’s busy world, it can be hard to find the time to go on college courses, and who wants to be stuck in a stuffy classroom when the sun’s out and there’s digging to do? Since the 1930’s the Horticultural Correspondence College has provided the answer. Their distance learning courses can be studied at home, and at times to suit.

Course range from horticulture and agriculture to floristry and Japanese garden design, and many lead to nationally awarded qualifications. HCC was first awarded ODL QC accreditation in 1989. Yesterday this was renewed, after a reassessment of the course materials, administration, and publicity and tutorial support.

The accreditation report noted the high level of learner satisfaction, and welcomed the “excellent” study guide as “one of the best of its kind.”

Reacting to the news on behalf of the HCC, Oliver Menhinick MBE said,
“The ODL QC and its page of welcome on the HCC website provides very valuable verification and support for the work of the HCC”.
