Reflexology Basic Practitioner Diploma |
The Basic Practitioner Diploma Course consists of six two-day seminars spread over the course of one year. These modules are linked with a home study programme. Each module includes anatomy and physiology, supported by informative hand-outs, and practical sessions in which the various physical skills of reflexology are demonstrated and practised under supervision.

To educate and train students to a standard of competence and confidence that enables them to work upon members of the public, safely, ethically and professionally to the benefit of the patient's quality of life, general health and well-being.

Anatomy of the foot and hand.
Natural health philosophy and practices, i.e. where Reflexology fits amongst other therapies.
Relationship between anatomy, physiology and the reflex areas relative to Reflexology.
Basic techniques and relaxation techniques.

Understanding anatomy and physiology is essential to the work of a Reflexologist. The following aspects are studied. There are comprehensive hand-outs for each topic:

Practical Training
Great emphasis is placed upon the acquisition of the correct holds, leverage and thumb and finger techniques that, together form the Original Ingham MethodŽ. The Institute's tutors are the only people licensed to teach this method - to safeguard its originality.
At each seminar, approximately half the time or more is spent perfecting these practical aspects of a competent reflexology treatment. The tutor/student ratio does not exceed 1:10 to enable personal attention to be given at all times.
