Publishing Training Centre

The Publishing Training Centre (PTC) has been established for 30 years and is the recognised training provider for the book and journal publishing industry.    An educational charity, it runs over 70 short courses, covering the complete range of publishing skills, and has trained staff from over 1,000 companies.    Short courses include editorial, software, rights, digital publishing and much more.    Most of the courses can also be run as an In-Company training event.

• Editing on Screen, and
• Effective Copywriting.

Online courses

• Understanding Book Publishing,
• Grammar at Work.

Each course has a very strong practical element, providing an excellent foundation upon which to build a career in publishing or to work as an editorial freelancer.    Each student will be assignment to a tutor and receive guidance and support throughout.   

It is responsible for developing the industry's occupational standards.
