The Montessori Centre International has an international reputation as one of the leading training establishments for the method of education established by Dr Maria Montessori.

The central idea of the Montessori method is that it provides freedom for the child within a carefully planned and structured environment; that all children are intrinsically motivated to learn and that they absorb knowledge without effort when provided with the right kind of activities at the right time of their development.    The method is best known when used for children from birth to six years of age, though it can be used with children up to the age of twelve years and beyond.

The Centre offers a range of full time, part time and correspondence courses, all of which can lead to the diploma in Montessori pedagogy.    All Distance Learning courses offered can lead to certificates or diplomas.

Courses currently offered by distance learning are:

  • Early Childhood Course: Montessori Pedagogy (International Diploma);
  • Early Childhood Course: Montessori Theory (Stage I);
  • Early Childhood Course: Montessori Theory & Methodology (Stage II)
