3rd re-accreditation for KLC School of Design

14th September 2001

The Open and Distance Learning Quality Council today agreed to award accreditation to KLC School of Design, specialists in Interior and Garden Design. The School, founded in 1982, was originally awarded Accredited Provider Status in 1993, and was re-accredited in 1998.

"KLC is a mature provider," said Dr D. Morley (Chief Executive of ODL QC) in his report,

"with a strong professional base, a first-class system of tutorial support, and a wide & imaginative range of services to supplement the core distance learning provision." He added, "I have no hesitation in recommending the re-accreditation of the school for the full period allowed by the Council"

ODL QC ensures that distance learning is a "quality" experience, by conducting a thorough assessment of a provider's systems, publicity, course materials, and tutorial support.

"KLC is delighted to have been re-accredited by the Open & Distance Learning Quality Council", said Jill Blake, Director of Open Learning at KLC, "It is always reassuring to have our commitment to provide innovative, professional and supportive training recognised and to offer our students an identifiable benchmark for quality".

Accredited Providers can use the ODL QC Quality mark to signal their commitment to quality, and the ODL QC Guarantee reassures their learners that they can get support should things go wrong.
