ODL QC acknowledges quality at ICS

ICS is one of the largest and best-known distance learning providers in the UK.    Now owned by Thomson, ICS has over 100 years of experience in quality distance learning.

Yesterday ODL QC was pleased to award accreditation to ICS, after a rigorous assessment of their service to ensure they met the Council's published standards.

The report emphasised the high standard of materials used in courses, stating that they were "attractive, easy to use, imaginative in their use of different techniques, pedagogically sound and amongst the best examples seen in the sector."

Courses include a wide range of vocational courses from relatively low level up to postgraduate, as well as GCSEs and A Levels. ICS also has a small portfolio of degrees in partnership with the University of East London.

Dr David Morley, ODL QC Chief Executive commented that "ICS is an excellent example of how to offer a first rate educational service on a sound commercial basis."

In response to the accreditation Jon Bouffler, Managing Director of ICS commented "We are delighted to have our quality recognised by ODL QC, and look forward to working with them to strengthen the role of Distance Learning in UK education as a whole."
