The NEBOSH National Diploma is a demanding and prestigious qualification for those working in, or intending to work in, occupational health and safety.
The course covers all the main areas a skilled safety practitioner would be expected to advise on - risk assessment, health & safety law, transport and storage of hazardous substances, protective equipment and work environments.
Part One (which has no entry requirements) is intended for safety practitioners in lower risk workplaces, where control is well documented, or as part of a team in higher risk areas reporting to a senior safety manager. This level provides an understanding of the core legislative and practical elements that underpin any good health & safety management policy.
Part Two is intended for those in areas who have overall responsibility for preventing life or organisation-threatening risks, implemnting/maintaining safe working practices and educating others (including senior management) on health and safety procedures.
RRC's examination results were well over the national average for 2000, with 75% passing Part 1 (57% nationally), and 50% Part 2 (27% nationally).
